Interesting how this whole saga seems to highlight both the weaknesses and strengths of the #FLOSS development model. Volunteer contributors/maintainers compromised and/or bullied to introduce a fuzzed backdoor, but the backdoor found by unaffiliated observers within a reasonably short timeframe because everything is out in the open.
