I'm not sure 'mass adoption' is a goal at this juncture.

Was strike due to using grapheneOS or something else?

It's hard to say. That process is completely opaque. If I had to guess, I would say their fraud check library uses the Google Play API for verifying "authentic" Android installations.

I use Strike on mine and it works great. I do have it in a profile where I use sandboxed google play though. Not sure how it would work with aurora store.
