We spent 2 entire years "learning" about WWI.
(Being told how proud we should be that the Anzacs were sent to die for no reason, like an entire 6 months was spent on the battle of Gallipoli, where the Anzacs were ordered to charge with bayonets into ottoman machine guns, 0% survival rate. 0% of the Ottoman machine guns were destroyed.
All because the British did not want to "waste ammo"
Everyone who refuses to charge into the machine guns was put to death for disobeying orders by the British officers in charge.
And the majority of the people in my class were stupid enough to actually feel "proud of the sacrifice"
While like 3 of us kept asking why the fuck should we be proud or celebrate people being sacrificed in a battle that made absolutely no impact on the war..
