My Starlink router seems to be bricked after an update didn't install properly.

I'm back to slow & flakey Internet.

Half of the images & videos on my Nostr feed don't render & every zap & reaction (all events basically) is slow to arrive.

The temporary solution might be to go for a walk & enjoy my Nostr feed on a big hill.

I love that my house has poor mobile reception most of the time. I'm just about to then off the Wi-Fi.

Should be interesting.

What's your general experience with Starlink where you live? Does it offer the projected bandwidth? Are you hitting any volume/fair use limits?

It's life changing if you have crappy internet or no internet. It made working remotely much cheaper, easier & better for me.

It was patchy & used to have short drop outs when I first got it like 3 years ago. As Elon put up more space junk the dropouts seem to have disappeared or become unnoticeable. A clear view of the skies is necessary - I stuck mine on the end of a 6m steel pipe to get it. That may not be necessary anymore.

I've not hit any limits & we hit it pretty hard some months. I'm paying for the 'performance' plan though.

It has gotten slow occasionally but power cycling the router seems to fix it.

Damn man. Can you not trigger a fresh update? Or rest to factory status or whatever?

Enjoy your walk!

I've tried it all. A new unit is being shipped. I got a good 3-4 years of largely uninterrupted service from it. Can't complain.

Starlink's ai chatbot is pretty awesome. So much better than a human (it actually listens to you).

Thanks man

Bricked?!?I love my Starlink.

I woke up yesterday with no internet.

I then spent most of the day trying to fix it.

It's great when it was working, not so much now.
