Welp. Back to ubuntu. Arch was fun but things got weird.

Dependency hell is hell. Ubuntu is predictably crap, but predictability is worth something.

I hit a networking issue and ain’t nobody got time to troubleshoot networking issues. Was connected cruising along downloading shit. Reboot, and suddenly no more connection. šŸ˜ž

It’s crap I need for now. Just wanted a quick node setup so I can see what all these degen inscribers are so hyped about. I won’t be inscribing anything, but I am curious to know if I have any ā€œrare or exoticā€ sats.

I finally got a real node setup a couple months ago with Fulcrum and the latest version of mempool.space and it’s very nice having something that performs so well compared to Umbrel on a Raspberry Pi.

I haven’t looked to see if I have any rare sats, but I did dig into inscriptions enough to figure out how to manually decode them using bitcoin-cli. That was a useful exercise.

That’s where I’m at. I have my Embassy OS for money things and passwords running on a pi. But I wanted a full function server just to check for rare sats to auction off at later dates. Probably will use a beefier setup for my LN node too, but that’ll be embassy OS too.

Give Fedora a try! I’m liking it a lot more than Ubuntu

Will do! But next time. I’m already well on my way to having a synced full node.
