Just noticed something interesting on #amethyst. Unlike other clients, the like button can't be customized but in the notification page, there are different emoji's representing the like action. Don't know how trivial it would be for custom emojis for likes on native apps.
Hold down the like button
Hold down the zap button
It will give you options
