This is my plan for a type vehicle for my trailer.
Buying old uhaul trucks really isnāt that bad of an ideaā¦
Not even gonna sugar coat itā¦
They handle all of the maintenance on the trucks in house at company run shopsā¦
I have personally been to themā¦
I have sold ~100 used truck, towing equipment, trailersā¦
I have done a lot of work on that shit myself lmfaoā¦
As long as the box doesn't leak, the engine runs without a CEL, the brakes a decent, and the steering tight, I don't care about much else.
I can stuff a LOT of solar on top of a 17", and it's a lot of extra storage.
They stopped making 17" trucks for 20" so go with at 15" a few years ago fyiā¦
They were starting to remove the boxes from all trucks larger then the 10" so they could reuse em on new trucks or to be used for new storage unitsā¦
Most of the trucks go up for sale in pretty good conditionā¦
they gave me the entire work history of the truck, it's beautiful
they took what I offered, and 1 hour later I owned the truck š¤
when I took it to my mechanic for an inspection, he was impressed with the overall condition
he was like: damn I need to buy one š¤£š
Yup cuz everything is done in house so they have all the recordsā¦
Even the "mechanics special" ones normally arenāt in that bad of shapeā¦
Also fyi if you ever buy another one you should be able to request to take it to your own mechanic before you buy it to have it looked atā¦
Better yet, buy your own truck.
I think if we all stay at home, don't go outside, rip out all microphones and cameras from devices, never connect computers to the internet, we should be fine.
