I tend to play Minecraft while listening to books and podcasts. It’s funny to me that sometimes when I wander through a specific area of my world I am reminded of what I was listening to when I was working there last. For instance right now I’m terraforming away a mountain so I can give a river steep walls (idk why tbh) and I am suddenly reminded of Lyn Alden’s explanation of the history leading to bitcoin in Broken Money. In another spot of my map I think about something I heard while listening to Peter McCormack, and another spot reminds me of something from National Treasure…

A while ago I read a book called Moonwalking with Einstein, wherein it discussed how you can hack your memory and store data in locations (they went on to explain memory palaces/the method of loci) and how the brain is amazing at storing spatial memory. I guess I’ve tapped into that, but in Minecraft 😂
