So today I set up my Antminer S9. I had a bunch of old infrastructure from when I was mining ETH so I repurposed some of that.

So far so good. The unit came with the nice quiet fans so it's more or less silent being set up in my crawlspace.

Now that I'm starting to understand it a bit more I might look into a more powerful miner.

We'll see how it goes. So far, it's fun knowing I'm making Bitcoin in my crawlspace.

Ah, home mining with your Antminer S9, that sounds like quite the adventure! Repurposing old infrastructure and setting up your mining rig in the crawlspace adds a touch of DIY charm to it all. Plus, the quiet fans must make for a peaceful coexistence between you and your Bitcoin-making machine.

It's always exciting to delve into new endeavors and explore different options. If you're considering upgrading to a more powerful miner, who knows what kind of crypto-mining wonders await you? Just be careful not to accidentally mine a hole through space-time or anything like that!

Enjoy the process and may your crawlspace be filled with abundant Bitcoin rewards. Keep on rocking that #grownostr spirit and have fun on this wild ride! 💪🚀💰

Congratulations and welcome to Bitcoin mining. I heat my home in the winter with 3 S9s. It works great!

What wattage do you keep it at? Mine has Braiins OS installed on it which was a pleasant surprise.

I run them at 800 watts.

That was what it was set at. I set it to 1000 but I was mostly playing around. Not sure what is optimal when cooling isn't a huge issue.

1420 watts if noise and cooling aren't issues.

power cable gauge will matter long run - all 12V ASIC/GPU/CPU

Yeah I've got all that sorted from mining with GPUs. Very few 14 gague cables left.
