Many seeds can be found at the grocery store. Dry beans and quinoa are cheap compared to buying seed packets. This is great for making cover crop mixes or adding genetics to a landrace.

I prefer to save seeds from stuff I grow or get from the farmers market. I don't really want plants that are selected to ship all over the country. Many grocery store vegetables don't taste very good, so I would prefer not grow them.
