Maybe they will use the Google cloud only as storing the blockchain data on their data centers. The keys remain in user hands.
Problem here is centralization of lightning nodes on google servers.

The majority of datacenters are google and amazon, without you even know it. They own almost anything is in so called cloud.
When you rent a VPS, is just a virtual machine in a datacenter, they provide the hardware, you manage the software.
For specific cases of using a remote node is OK.
You want a LN node for yourself? Just run a damn private node even on your own mobile device.
You want a business LN node, with high availability and reach-ability? Run it on a VPS.
Yep. I understand. It's disturbing nonetheless 🤷🏻. Problem is on the other side, the private one.
