They reissued the currency and repaid debt with hyperinflated paper, while confiscating the property of anyone they could "other" in any way. It was a regime built on theft. The clearing of the debt was not their doing - Weimar marks were already worthless, they were already at rock bottom. They retook the rheinland, which was the industrial base, and I don't blame them for taking back their own land, but it had nothing to do with socialist policies, and they cancelled war reparation payments - which I also don't hold against them, but it has nothing to do with socialism.

But their mass theft was still not enough to fund themselves, even in peacetime. So, when they invaded countries, they went straight for the gold reserves and the bank vaults, stole everything.... And even THAT still couldn't fund their government, and their economy was collapsing at the end of the war, and would have collapsed regardless of the outcome of the war.
