There are already languages like Esperanto, trying to be universal. But the way languages developed is far too complex. Even if you could have an ideal "intermediary" language, it wouldn't be the same for any two pairs. For example, you could use Spanish to go between Portuguese and Italian, but that wouldn't be ideal between Punjabi and Hindi. Try to find and intermediary between Xhosa and hieroglyphs.
