I think the problem could be that “race” has been mostly used to qualify people in a negative or derogative way. Something like “me or us against them” which is a sad reality.

If you think about it we kinda see the same thing trying to split us now between male and female and/or any other gender in between accusing some of toxic masculinity or toxic feminism and many more.

But again just my opinion 🤙
