What's changing in the new policy? I have lots of friends still stuck on X hopefully I can convince them.
X is quietly changing the deal with its users.
Your posts are no longer communication — they are raw material.
– Content is used for AI training by default (opt-out).
– X grants itself worldwide, royalty-free rights to your content.
– Data is shared with “business partners” → data trade.
– Texas jurisdiction makes legal action practically unreachable for users.
– Scraping and large-scale analysis are punished to protect the data monopoly.
– The AI opt-out is technical goodwill, not a permanent right.
Bottom line:
X is turning into a data and AI extraction machine.
You are not the customer — you are the input.
Alternative:
Nostr is not a platform, it is a protocol.
Keys = identity.
No platform lord, no enclosure.
For me, as an Alien content creator, this is not acceptable.
I will focus on decentralized systems like Nostr going forward. 👽
