as far as the government of this island is concerned it seems that the interests of madeirense are contrary to those of the mainland and additionally, the whole populace of portugal has veered right, like most of europe now after the never ending stream of bullshit from brussels aligned promotion of immigration from africa and middle east and their egregious power grab and participation in a certain medical hoax that people are now starting to realise was just a fascist coup, and that the threat is far from gone, just in recession until they run another racket

so, yeah, i'm not worried about it, and i have good relations with my neighbours and the one i deal with most he also is predated upon by these eurocrats and doesn't want to play that game either

maybe the majority of the population of this island is in the warm dry urban area around funchal but the majority of money outside of tourism comes from the farmers here where there is rain for crops to grow, and they are not aligned with tax collectors at all
