My Android Studio is connected with the Play Store to download crash reports from users. It's also connected with Gemini to help me write code.

A next level integration would be Gemini offering me a test case and a solution automatically as soon as a new crash report comes in.

Let's see how good these AIs actually are.

Although, data privacy bells ringing… Not a fan of feeding Google's AI user crash reports, unless it is purely stack traces (no user identifiable device data, etc).

I run LM Studio locally, the Gemma model (local mini Gemini) is quite good!

Crash reports come through the Play Store: Google already has your crash reports. It was already fed to all the AIs they create.

Suppose that’s why I don’t use the Play Store, and always opt-out. 😂🔥

How do we opt out from crash reports?

On the versions installed from the Play Store, when the crash happens you get a screen to send or not the report. Just say no.

?? It crashed then restarts?

Then, nothing was sent.

In fact the app just crashed now, what data are you sending them?

I get the stack trace of the code, the model of the phone and the version of the OS that is running.

No other logs or identifyable information.

I think the screen that asks you to send the report has a privacy disclaimer there that should be similar to this.

I don't get a consent modal

Then you are not sending reports to me :)

Android will only ask once per error type. If it repeats it doesn't ask again.
