Been using it for this exact thing for years now.

tl;dr: Jellyfin = Open Source Plex-ish thing or "grey zone netflix". You configure it to use TVHeadend for it's LiveTV feature (requires a small, but well maintained plugin) and in TVHeadend, you configure either TV-Tuners or other SAT>IP boxes that are then consumed by Jellyfin via the plugin and... you have regular TV, in Jellyfin!

(filtered by favorites, but they are all received through a SAT>IP box, managed by a TVHeadend instance running on the same server and thus linked to JellyFin.)
