On my pixel I download yt videos on the Newpipe app at 240p, then I upload on amethyst at the lowest quality to spare the relays and peoples data plans.

If you're on iPhone you can copy the link and paste to a yt-mp4 converter website.

Some of these videos deserve to live on our phones IMO, even if they take up space
