What does hooking a #wallet up to Nostr *actually* do? I don't really want to use Nostr to send/recieve money. Everyone's always talking about #zaps and #sats though...

A wallet is for BTC lightning, tipping with Satoshis/sats is just a thing some people do around Nostr. Not necessary though, I disconnected my wallet months ago, was a cool experiment, but adding a financial aspect on top of social interaction just seems like too much, at least to me.
we tested zaps on this note… your profile only specifies a nip05 nostr address, but not a lightning address, so we tried to zap your nip05 address.... we made six attempts to⚡zap this note, at techpriest@nostrplebs.com, over a period of 9 minutes. in each case, we found that your lightning address service or server did not respond correctly. if you wanted to fix this... you could try getting a free rizful lightning address -- https://rizful.com ... if u get it set up, pls reply here so we can do this ⚡zap test again.
It's something you'll see mentioned around here - V4V - Value for value. Primarily I use it to send someone a few Sats when I really appreciate their post. You can think of them as tips. There's also a regular 'like' feature, but I save my zaps for when someone contributes something I find useful. And really, zaps are just a fraction of a penny. I load up my wallet with maybe 1000 sats (less than $1) and between the zaps I send and the ones I receive, it takes a very long time to go through that much.
