If we standardized the URL format it could be swappable by the user. It's so simple anyone could implement it. Less than 200 lines of code.

Oh cmon. This has to be out of scope…
I think there is a greater risk for nostr clients, since people can inject this stuff into your feed. Mail clients have the same issue and have “dont load images” for this reason
