yeah, it's the same mass hysteria thing like beatlemania

the PR people have been injecting that shit into everything and completely crafting celebrity and using the "organic" idols to legitimise the official narratives

people are so buried in this stuff they don't even realise that someone is pushing their buttons... from a technical standpoint it's called "mind control" and the behaviour pattern is a pandemic, for the last 60 years or so, the entire 60s was a manufactured "cultural revolution" and honestly it is exactly how it sounds

nah, i mostly like gypsies, at least the kind i met in bulgaria...

but then i'd probably rate hippies and gypsies about the same in terms of likely to be trouble, similar aspect of being an outlaw culture, and really it's much the same with cypherpunks as well... mostly ok but some real fucktards amongst it riding on the public image
