The first Nostr commit was on November 7th 2020.

By this time, there were already calls to have Donald Trump removed from social media.

Within two months, the sitting US president would be banned from every major social media network.

Just like the inception of Bitcoin was during the aftermath of the Great Financial Crisis, the origin of Nostr coincides with the removal of one of the most prominent history from social media.

His banning was exactly the moment when I went looking for something like nostr.

Hmmm that makes me suspicious then, the censorship caused "truthers' for want of a better word to move over to Platform like Telegram that we now know are neither private nor secure. The alternatives happened to pop up at the exact time for the mass exodus. I don't trust Trump one bit by the way its left and right wing of the same bird, its all a big show to keep us divided and entertained.

Here is the link to the news screenshot posted in this note: https://www.mic.com/impact/will-trump-get-banned-from-social-media-after-he-leaves-office-42442907. Gonna share it to my undergrad ICT course students of journalism.
