Lol. It was an online web poll. About as accurate as a Reddit poll.

Hardly a Reddit-style poll. DemosAU is a professional pollster (Australian Polling Council member), using a weighted, nationally representative online panel of over a thousand people — the same method as Newspoll, Resolve, and YouGov use.

Reddit polls are open and unweighted. This one is properly sampled and reported by serious outlets.

Outlier? Sure. Straw poll? No.

DemosAU is a terrible pollster and we should not be paying them any attention whatsoever. They calculate preference flows for the entire country based purely based on *the seat of Hunter*, for God's sake. They have zero credibility.

As an Australian Polling Council member, they’re meeting transparency and standards; they use national preference flows for standard 2PP.

The hypothetical Labor vs One Nation 2PP (using Hunter flows) is clearly labelled exploratory — not their main result.

Polling isn’t the be-all and end-all though, but ignoring the obvious shift would only be sticking one’s head in the sand.

There's only one accurate poll. The odds at the bookies.
