#meshtastic If I want to simulate the sun acting on a small e.g. 20 cm x 30 cm solar panel, is there a good light source to do this? Any other tips welcome. I need to simulate a battery being recharged from a solar panel to test the electronics of an attached node ....

There are no sources of light that will stimulate the sun well outside of a thermonuclear reactor...

Use a programmable power supply to adjust current and voltage input based on stimulated time of day and solar irradiance.
