With Palantir et all, I have no doubt that the final hurdle to liberty is a police state track-and-trace economy based on biometric REAL ID.

I think biometric data is already being harvested via airlines with TSA face scans

Yes but existing systems are lossy and fragmented. REAL ID unifies them and rolls them out to all.

Enhanced ID captures biometrics at the time of REAL ID creation. Then DHS can verify that biometrics match the person travelling. Naturally, this will spread to other venues of life.
