I'm a deist. Believing in a Creator isn't the issue. Believing that one representation of the Creator is correct over another one is where I have issues, and if my belief is wrong, then there are potential dire consequences, and yet I am unable to believe things I don't believe. I can go through the motions, but I know in my heart of hearts I'm only playing make believe, and the all knowing God would also know. If Christianity is indeed true, believing in God isn't enough, and having wrong views of God is the difference between everlasting life and eternal damnation.
