Cork Oaks. Some that I walk by once in a while had their bark harvested for cork. That is done about every 8 or 10 years or so. Here is what they look like right after the bark is removed. #grownostr #Portugal #corkoak

No, they can have the bark taken off them many times during their life. It is a practice going back thousands of year. Such an interesting tree.
