I think it’s a easily solve able problem. I rarely look at the global feed anymore. I use the search bar to search for people and hashtag topics to follow to curate my feed.

What about new users, how do they get started? They will likely look at a global feed of some sort. Also, sometimes bad content seeks you out. For example, on nostr it is easy to spam, simply by replying to posts. I think spammers will have a field day once nostr gets more popular, and we'll need some clever thinking to counter that

Clients can ask users a bunch of introductory questions?

Like what are you interests and recommend hashtags to follow.

And remind users to share their npubs with friends on other socials so people can find them.

Very trivial imo buts it’s up to client devs to decide how to implement it so it’s smooth onboarding experience

Paid relays use spam filters to tackle that’s problem. Like nostr.wine
