Setup a friend with a Muun wallet this morning

Such an awesome experience

Amusingly, he'd forgotten his Apple account login, so downloading the app needed a password reset

To then have a no-kyc onboarding experience was a great example of permissioned vs permissionless systems

He's now the proud owner of $50 aud of Bitcoin

Interesting to see what happens next, as he was talking of the pain his investment properties cause him, not just in mortgage obligations, but also the need to have a stressful job to pay for it

Wondering if he might opt for a Bitcoin standard instead

Remember that’s onchain at rest. Even if he goes to send a lightning payment in future it’ll require an onchain fee so if fees go up considerably from here it might be the majority of his funds. Phoenix is essentially the opposite so probably a better option

What’s your opinion about Phoneix wallet?

Muun wallet will cause more pain in a high fee environment

As a followup: Send him this full video by nostr:npub1s5yq6wadwrxde4lhfs56gn64hwzuhnfa6r9mj476r5s4hkunzgzqrs6q7z with Leon Wankum to show him how a chunk of BTC compliments a RE portfolio. It’ll let him choose between property leverage to buy btc, vs sale of the property to buy bitcoin. That property leverage is a solid entry for a real estate owner. Property is a job/business, but is sweeter and more worth the effort with margins amplified by bitcoin growth.
