Don’t confuse recognition for your actions with the actions themselves.

The percentage of nostriches who can afford large zaps is likely small. The likelihood of someone who can do so, happening to find and follow you, and then actually be on Nostr at the right time to see you better content, is likely smaller still.

Also, don’t conflate people zapping you with people liking you. We’re all hanging out here together, enjoying each others’ company, and exchanging *micropayments* as representations of appreciation and derived value.

If you were to calculate the amount of work hours that someone needs to trade for the value of a “whale zap”, then consider the level of quality that must be required of a social media post in order for someone to choose to part with that money.

I appreciate that your question is more philosophical than literal ✌️

I’m glad you understand the philosophical questions. 👍 With that said, I was told that it’s value4value over here. And zaps prove it. Furthermore, I’ve seen multiple whale zaps on an initial post. How would one explain that?
