It's amazing how the deeper I go down the #bitcoin rabbit hole, the riskier everything else feels.

People who don't understand Bitcoin think it's the riskiest possible thing to own.

I think it's the least risky thing you can own, and you can actually own it! No IOUs here!

Hardest Money there is!

So true.

Become unruggable (#Bitcoin on an air-gapped #Coldcard)

Agreed. I don't think people understand just what they're up against when it comes to other assets... I've been there and felt it first hand. Out of everything, Bitcoin gives me the least concern.

Bitcoin removes the need for yield.

We will know where this yield comes from.

You must sow before you reap.

I agree 100 percent.

At the same time, holding Bitcoin also had risks. Different risks.

Beyond the obvious, volatility or theft, which are easy to manage, basically accept volatility and allocate accordingly and use cold storage and backups, there are also, at least I see, looming risks...

Government ban or heavy taxation. I know, I know, they cannot effectively enforce it, but they definitely can make our lives harder, force us to hide, to sell Bitcoin at discount on some dark markets, etc.

I hate to say it.

I hope it will not materialize.

But I do see it as a risk of having Bitcoin.

Am I wrong? I'd very much like to be wrong on this.

bitcoin is the safest thing to own in the world
