What about silver is it halal and what about other coins digital or physical are they halal and or using rice and such?
Discussion
Silver is halal , as long as a transaction is free of Riba or Manipulation it should be permissible.
Gold/ Silver or any metal coins are halal.
What about non metal like rice and whatever else if it doesn't relate to riba? Also free of manipulation what does that mean is there any verse on it or hadith or something and how do we know what is manipulation?
Wouldn't rice fall under barter which is permissible.
By manipulation I meant that no cheating was being done to any party.
different scholars have different requirements for a sharia compliant currency. im not a taymi but here are ibn tayymiyyahs requirements:
functions as a medium of exchange (i.e. people accept it in exchange for goods and services)
not exposed to debasement or manipulation (government policies, counterfeiting, trimming)
does not serve as a commodity in and of itself (meaning its value is not realized until it is exchanged for something else)
Most currencies you can think of are probably halal (unless they are riba backed). but the buck doesnt stop with 'halal'
we still have to consider and choose the best currency for our situation. many shitcoins are probably halal, but you can still warn against halal things. its halal to drink coffee right before bed, doesnt mean i cant tell people that its a terrible idea
What were ibn taymiyyah's evidences from Qur'an and the Prophet pbuh? As in how did he get to these specific points? If you can point me toward them so i can read up I'd be grateful.
if you want to know read the book.
What book you didn't talk about any book?
