Finally bit the bullet and closed my LinkedIn account - had a lot of connections, recommendations/endorsements, and articles I'd written...which I exported.

But I've come to despise Reid Hoffman over the last couple of years and finally followed through on my principles...and should have done that much earlier.

I tried to help their Analytics by explaining my reason for closing my account. Think it will help?

Had to do the same thing

Now - if I can keep the momentum on following my principles and breaking away from fiat rails.

i just make a new account anyway every couple years when i need a job and then i abandon it again

nostr would be so much better for this

Hope to see nostr grow into this role. Since I'm semi-retired now, and have no intentions of taking on any consultant or IT exec roles for the rest of my life, I shouldn't need the professional networking.

And Whitney Webb keeping and reporting on the receipts regarding Reid Hoffman...just couldn't stand implicitly supporting it.

Still have to do Facebook - meaning I'll lose connections with friends and family, but I've only logged in a couple times over the last 2-3 years...mostly out of obligation to say "thank you" when people wish me Happy Birthday.

Those same family and friends will also lose status updates and photos in which they are tagged...but you know what, the world will not end with those lost statuses and photos!
