I have a thing for beautifully designed hardware not made of plastic. I think it’s one of the reasons I like Apple products that has nothing to do with software.

I'm with you on that, nearly every PC laptop I've seen feels shitty, unless it's an oldschool ThinkPad or other clunk of plastic that's pretty cool.

Been running Asahi on my M1 for a month or so now.

Apple is beautiful hardware gimped by their software.

Agreed. I think this way about pretty much everything. If it is made of plastic, it seems cheap and artificial. There is a difficult to describe link between beauty and real materials.

same. I like OG stuff... not made from plastic. That's why I have Zippo 😉

I hafta agree with this, can always nuke Cupertino nannyware and install OpenBSD on it.

You can go really far with macOS too. To start it’s a BSD, brew.sh works fine (also MacPorts or #NetBSD’s pkg_add) and with QEMU or any other VM you can have the best of both worlds. Plus apple M’s are really efficient.
