I love orpingtons. I had a flock of buff orpingtons, but had to get rid of them because I developed a lung sensitivity that forced me to chose between breathing and eggs. I sure miss my chickens.
The buff orpingtons were friendly, laid lots of eggs, and had huge legs and thighs when you butchered them in the end. My family likes dark meat, so a butchered orpington was fantastic for us.

Orpingtons are such great chickens! I just started raising American Bresse and plan on crossing them and seeing what the result is.
It’s our first year incubating eggs or having chickens - looking forward to the experience of hatching in about 7 days!
