Dear all… we wish to float an idea by you all to gauge interest in a potential new product on the BitcoinBeans shop.

What you see below is 100% natural sugar, Panela, made by an Arhuaco indigenous family we are really good friends with here in La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia.

In true Bitcoin style, this is an exemplary piece of PoW at play. Farming the land, harvesting the sugar cane, pressing and then cooking, setting into molds and then a 6hr journey down the mountain to get it to a market in the nearest town.

Our vision is to bring this to the Bitcoin community who value PoW but also the highest quality produce that exist, those free of contamination and middle men, that come direct from the source.

On a dietary level, eliminating refined and process commercial white sugar from the diet, whilst also providing an insane natural sweetener for your cacao and coffee and other cooking needs.

We would love to hear from you all as to whether this is something that you would be interested in stocking in your pantries.

Big love to all.

Yes, please!

And so it is!! I am currently on route to England for Xmas and New year, but this is already a beautiful trip and adventure to look forward to when I get back to Colombia late January. I will keep updated!

Absolutely love this! 🌱✨

Real PoW, natural produce, and a direct connection to an indigenous family… this is the kind of authenticity that fits perfectly with the Bitcoin ethos.

Panela is amazing both health-wise and flavour-wise, so this is definitely something I’d stock in my kitchen.

Big props to you for bringing high-quality, source-direct products to the community. ♥️🍯

Thank you bro!

For this response alone, I really wish to send you some!

The indigenous are masters of PoW!

To make the journey up the mountain and document the process and share time and space with them will be quite an adventure.

To bring this energy back down and to the conscious consumer would be an absolute honour.

Pondering pondering how a little bit of Bitcoin business could help them reclaim the mother land that was brutally taken from them by the conquistadors in the 1500s. This is a deep topic.

really is a deep topic, and a powerful one.

If anyone has earned the meaning of Proof-of-Work, it’s the indigenous peoples. Their resilience, their connection to the land, their ability to endure across centuries… that’s real immutability.

Bringing their story, their energy, and their craft back down from the mountain isn’t just commerce, it’s a form of restoration. If Bitcoin can play even a small role in helping them reclaim what was taken, that would be something truly meaningful.

Some things go beyond markets and money. This feels like one of them.🫂🫵🏽

Yes for Australia also. My partner is a natural foods focussed chef and she would love this.

We will make magic happen! Our Ozzie family should not go without! Watch this space!

Very cool. What’s the consistency?

It’s solid although it holds some moisture. It comes as a block. It can be easily cut off the block or scraped with a knife very easily.

What’s something like this cost?

At this stage it’s difficult to say because I will need to go and visit the family and understand the full cost profile. Not looking likely that we have a product much before mid February.

Is this similar to panela?

Exactly. This is what Colombians call “Panela” yes, but farmed and processed on a small scale. Its flavour is definitely different from more commercial panela, I would say sweeter.

Awesome…

I was just looking at possibly buying some…

I think we can make something magic happen! I feel the enthusiasm out there for real PoW sweetness! It’s going to be an adventure to bring it Bitcoiners but feeling the call!

Sweet!
