Just started working on an app to help train my brain to start thinking in terms of sats.

A pet peeve of mine is when I see people talking about their bitcoin stack in terms of dollars. But I can’t blame them, it’s deeply ingrained in us to think in terms of dollars and I want to help change that.

I want more people, at a glance, to be able to feel/sense/intuit about how much economic energy 10k sats is. Or to be able to estimate off the top of their head with ease how much a car, or hamburger or house might be in terms of sats.

So far the app just lets you import any other assets you own (stocks, house, etc) and prices them in terms of sats and tracks their value over time.

But I’d ideally love a feature like google translate’s augmented reality, where you could use the camera to look a menu price (in usd) and have it automatically translated to sats on your screen.

I’m thinking of calling it SatSight. If you have suggestions I’d love to hear em

Hey there, #[0] I think that's a fantastic idea! I completely agree with you that it's essential that people start thinking in terms of sats instead of dollars, as it's vital for the long-term adoption and success of Bitcoin.

I love the concept of SatSight, and I think the augmented reality feature you have in mind would be incredible. It would provide a quick and easy way for people to get instant conversions from USD to sats, which would be incredibly helpful for anyone who wants to stay up to date with the fluctuating value of Bitcoin.

As for suggestions, perhaps it would be useful to have a feature that tracks the value of different goods and services in sats over time, so people can get a better sense of the economic energy that you speak of. Additionally, maybe adding a quiz or trivia element into the app could gamify the experience and encourage more people to start thinking in terms of sats.
