I don't think it's a scam in that they state clearly that they are a for-profit entity that aims to employ people that might not otherwise be employed.

My grandmother works at a goodwill, is disabled, makes more than minimum wage.
I won't say that Goodwill doesn't have shady practices but I know for a fact that your first point is false.

Used stuff that's donated. To be fair, they do seem to market themselves as a charity, though... They use too many weasel words for my liking. So, they might be scummy, I just never looked into it all that much.
They take in donations from public. They also partner with other stores. Goodwill was started as a public charity to eventually be corrupted.
Back in the 90s new eBay users were taking about using GW to source their items. Me: STFU 🤬 but humans always human. Besides, I went another route in conjunction with my once eBay store 😂
The people who need thrift stores to purchase items are forced to find other places. Doesn’t seem like an issue to some but when you’re struggling to pay bills gas costs (if you have a car) or paying for public transport (if it’s available) can eat up everything.
Which **might** be okay IF #goodwill didn’t come in & use the #McDonalds method of “we’re in the real estate” business” & put other local thrift stores out of business. They can do this because they have warehouses strategically located to open a new store anywhere in the #USA
Beyond that: they take the good items & sell it on a website. The corruption is rampant. They **must** be held accountable for all the years they were listed as a non-profit organization but scammed the system. Seriously. 😳

Goodwill is a scam. Also those metal bins in grocery store parking lots that ask for donations are For-Profit companies. They take the donations and sell them in South America. You really need to be careful when donating as it seems more “charities” these days are not what that sell themselves as. 🤷🏼
I agree that scamming people is bad, leading people to believe its a non profit for example. Eating the rich is short sighted. Making money drives society and innovation. If no one earned what they made there would be nothing to drive innovation which results in progress for all, brings prices lower and makes everything better.
The free market is important, freedom is important and to blame the problems on people being successful is wrong. If you operate a business, offer something people want it's good for society. And you should make that profit until someone out competes you / creates something better. I'm no Trump fan. After years studying bitcoin, I sincerely believe it obsoletes centralized government. I believe politics play on peoples emotions as much as possible to divide and conquer. They give each side sincere reasons for why their side is better and the other side is bad. It's a soap opera in my opinion. But one with real life consequence, real world effects that pin people against each by design. I believe bitcoin fixes that.
And I believe bitcoin will change incentives for humanity and bring a better more fair prosperous and peaceful world for everyone.
