❌ BlueWallet: Can’t be used to onboard people to Lightning anymore, requires you to bring your own node

❌ Muun: No longer reliable for low Lightning Network fees, uses back-end submarine swaps, offers nonstandard on-chain backup method

Using printed material to onboard people to bitcoin is a very bad idea because the information can’t be updated when there are major changes made to software.

It’s horrifying to think how many people have been onboarded to BlueWallet’s custodial node that will likely lose their sats next month and won’t even find out until it’s too late, or who have been introduced to Muun and don’t realize it’s not a real Lightning wallet and are suddenly hit with massive default fees to move their sats elsewhere.

This is not a good path for adoption, and could burn your reputation with anyone you onboarded this way.
