What's your favorite Linux distro on a laptop? I'm currently on Debian and it's been fine I'm just curious what others here are using.

Debian is the best distro out there imo, but if you’re looking to try something different I’d suggest Fedora is great too.

Devuan (fork but not really of Debian), using Fluxbox with iDesktop as a DE.

For laptop I use popOS mostly cause it came with the system76 laptop. I was a fan of Debian since the 3.5" floppy days. Before that it was Slackware. I'm comfortable with all of them so it doesn't matter much to me which distro. I do keep it simple for light machines and use Peppermint on them. Not Linux but Haiku OS and OS2 work well on those old machines as well.

For old machines there’s also always FreeDOS :)

I had Gentoo on my laptop for several years and recently switched to OpenSUSE.

At a certain level it doesn't really matter as long as you're comfortable with the distro's tools.

I'm in a perpetual cycle of Gentoo -> (get sick of compiling) -> pre-compiled distros -> (wish I had control over compile-time package options) -> Gentoo -> …
