Career goals are dumb.

I have a “career” because I need to make money to then enjoy life with my friends and family.

Life purpose and pursuit of your passions is one thing (yes including those that make you money). But career goals are bullshit.

You don’t need career goals. But you need money. And you need to pursue your passions.

There does come a point when you realize that if you get a promotion all it means is more work for a little bit more pay.

Having goals in some form in regards to a career can allow us to get to that perfect balance, right?

My career goal is to have my name written on the Stanley Cup.

Pursuing it brings money and enables me to pursue my passions, while living the lifestyle I want.

When you truly follow your passion you don’t need to worry about money.
