I started to experiment with going out without phones these days, for a few people it works great, all you need is to confirm the time and location.
But for some, somehow seems unworkable, the phone almost feels like a tool to be irresponsible so can "communicate" 🙈
If everyone can be reliable and show up on time, why do we even need to carry the phone around? I mean people in the past just write letters and meet, and it worked.
It worked, because there were payphones everywhere, and housephones in every meeting venue, which visitors could use.
People were just as unreliable or worse, because maps were on paper, and finding locations and estimating ETA was much more difficult.
It also worked in the 80's. We set a time and then just met. Today people are so lousy that they just don't show up for an appointment and still don't let you know in time with their cell phone.
