Coinbase just disclosed in their Q1 filing: they custody 2.68 million bitcoin.

That’s over 13% of all Bitcoin in circulation, on one platform.

Is this the greatest honeypot in financial history?

I would say there are 3 or 4 of them that big. Surely this centralization of detention of ₿ is not good for the protocol but it is a free market 🤷‍♂️
