I don't disagree, but carbs are addictive and are less satiating than HFLC which means you will tend to overeat if you eat a high-fat diet with a nontrivial amount of carbs, or a high-carb diet with a nontrivial amount of fat. Another factor is that grains tend to be fortified, and adding brewers yeast to grains will delay the 'full' horomone and this also causes one to overeat.
Yes, there is truth to this. "I was hungry so I ate a slice of bread. Now I am even hungrier!"
