Use common sense everywhere you go and you’ll be just fine. The towns around Lake Atitlan (aka Bitcoin Lake) are safe and lovely.

Going to be heading to Guatemala in a few weeks. Do you have a recommendation for the lightning wallet that worked best in country?

Most places use BTC Beach Wallet, so you can easily get by with that one, though I’ve mainly used Wallet of Satoshi and Strike a few times. Some people have also used Muun successfully.
Any lightning wallet will work
We recommend the Bitcoin Beach wallet because of the map feature. But if you have a US based cell you can’t download. Otherwise wallet of Satoshi is fine
