I haven't seen that as the case. Most ask you to sign in with an nsec.
The problem is that each time you set up a new Nostr app, the default is that it generates a new private key. That's a great practice for your FIRST Nostr app... but then if you're not paying attention, you generate more than one private key, and that's bad.
