The US government spends more than $200B on the dept of Education each year. Yet, since 1979, when it was created, reading and math proficiency rates have gotten worse, and we've fallen behind many other countries.

Yet, the DOE still grades individual schools on their reading and math performance as though it is an expert in acadmeic growth. Don't believe me? Look at Domain 3 of Texas' school rating system. Every state has something like it.

Nancy Pelosi says she is there for the children, yet she has watched over a trillion dollars going to bureaucrats that has yielded nothing.

If you're curious about it, take a look at how much Federal Title 1 money went to public schools and then look at the performance of those schools.

Hint: it's terrible. Why? Because they end up teaching to the tests (thank you, Bushes), and teaching to tests isn't education.

Literacy rates were almost even between demographics prior to 1979. Every media outlet reported last week that the picture is now very dire.

Please someone remind me again why we need a DOE.

I'm sure the DOE is needed to sort our the confusion that our kindergarten students have regarding the 43 genders. 😆
