The guy is almost dead and has nothing to lose. If he loses an american city or two to nukes he will be hated for all time. Trump has much to lose, wealth and privilege, his loved ones, but maybe what is most important is how history will remember him. He could have been closer to the top of the list of successful presidents, he blew it, pissing away his presidency for Israel.
I doubt he actually cares about his 'loved ones'. He cares about himself, nothing more.
