the apple tax is hardly talked about… I don’t think a lot of livestream is consumed on mobile. It’s an exception not processed through apple, and I wonder if google pockets what they can when they settle up.
YouTube does allow for 3rd party payment providers (who offer better than 20%) to be listed in bios of livestreams.
Creators are always saying “if you don’t like google taking a cut I get more at…” (socialbuzz or streamelements, these offer onscreen notifications and other obs integrations) But you could just list cash app and read the notes from that or a lnaddy. People like having their superchat highlighted in the actual chat, it also weighs the algorithm, along with memberships & membership gifting.
twitch just gives the user less bits if you buy on iOS, but once you give them to creators, based on their affiliate status, they get the same.
